Material is fed into a grinding chamber where a spinning disk with varying size pins create a torturous flow path. Particles are fractured through direct impact or from sheer forces against stator/fixed chamber surfaces leading to size reduction. Pin design and rotational speed of the disk can be varied to influence the size of the particles created.
Preferred and most economical choice when distributions of 100-400 hundred microns is acceptable.
